Misplaced Values

Values are what people attach importance to. But truly speaking the best things in life are free; they were giving to mankind by nature, the creator. The things man need to value the most are; the air we breathe, water, food. But what we see these days is that people attach so much importance to material possessions like car, building and jewelries. And these things are not free, they buy them with money. That’s why these days people respect and value money because it can get you these possessions. People will do all kinds of things just to make money, because the wealthy people are highly respected in our society. Nobody ask were you make your money these days, even the politicians who steal money are even celebrated, and the young once are aspiring to be like them. But there is one thing they fail to understand, that success without character is failure.
Character is the value that has been misplaced. A man with good character do not raise money higher than his personality, he will not scarify the truth for lie, a man of integrity. If mankind truly desires a better world and desire change by all men, they need to start celebrating people of good character rather than riches.
We all need to start looking for our misplaced values. These words are especially for Nigerians; come this 2015 election, vote a man of good character and you, be a man of character.
God bless Nigerians, and God bless Africa.
